Issues related to health care coverage  affects all of us -whether it is the individual or family seeking affordable health care coverage or the business providing the coverage. Here are some of the health care issues I plan to focus on if elected your State Senator.

Health Care and Businesses:

Businesses provide the majority of healthcare coverage in Alabama and across the country.  Legislation that requires individuals and businesses to pay high penalties and taxes will not only hurt the bottom lines of businesses and their employees; it will also reduce their access to quality healthcare.  I oppose any healthcare legislation that inflicts these penalties or that has a Public Plan option.  I will fight for reform that will fix the problems in the current healthcare system.  I support tax credits that will make it more affordable for employers to offer healthcare coverage to their employees and keeps healthcare in the power of the private sector and the individual.

Health Care and You:

I do not believe a government-run health care is the answer to any of our health care issues. When it comes to our own personal healthcare coverage,  we the people should be the ones who decide which doctor we will use, and when we will use them.  As your State Senator, I will support any sound plan that helps reduce the skyrocketing cost of health care for our residents, which does not involve a government takeover of the health care industry.
